A guide to help you find the top Instagram spots around Switzerland! Whether you’re visiting for just a few days or exploring the whole country, there are so many spots to see, keep reading to check these out!
The iconic Matterhorn mountain! One of the most famous mountains in the world and known for being on the Toblerone bar.
To get this shot, take the Gornergrat train from Zermatt all the way to the top, then walk up to the lookout point (past the hotel).
Tip: the supermarkets in Zermatt often run out of Toblerone bars for this exact shot! So if you want this shot and don’t want to take your chances then make sure you buy it before you get to Zermatt.
One of the more well-known lakes in Switzerland, literally translated from German to mean “Blue Lake”. It’s a very small lake that you can walk around in just a few minutes and the blue is so striking it’s hard to stop taking photos. Go check out the hashtag #blausee and see for yourself!
A trip to Lucerne isn’t complete without walking through the Kappelbrucke bridge, the oldest wooden bridge in Europe. It’s hard to miss, situated at the top of the lake with the old town in the background.
If you’re here for adventure (i.e. paragliding) then no doubt you will be snapping some epic shots. Otherwise from the top of Harder Kulm you’ll get this incredible view over the town of Interlaken and the Swiss Alps, not to mention this beautiful friend we found!
Stroll through the vineyards of the Lavaux Terraces situated on the edge of Lake Geneva with many wineries to stop off at along the way for wine tasting. From here you’ll get a view of the Alps and over to France!
Lauterbrunnen, home to the famous Staubbach falls with a village set in a valley surrounded by mountains. Just a few minutes walk from the train station will lead you down this village street and towards the waterfall with plenty of photo opportunities along the way!
Fancy a jump shot at 3’000m high? Head up to Mt Titlis for lots of photo opportunities including this shot walking across Europe’s highest suspension bridge as well as walking through a glacier cave!
The train ride with the best view? Hop on the Gornergrat train from Zermatt and on the way to the top, there are plenty of photo opportunities (make sure you pick your moments while hanging out, there are small tunnels along the way that get quite close!)
No matter what season, Zürich is beautiful and it’s hard to walk around without a camera. One of our favourite subjects is the Zürich tram and they’re not hard to find as it’s the main mode of transport around town.
This one was captured off Bahnhofplatz one morning after it had snowed all night!
Lugano, located in the Italian influenced area of Switzerland, is a beautiful lake with an Italian feel. Make sure you take a walk around the lake to the beautiful gardens with this gate overlooking the water.
Ever wanted to go luging (or “summer tabogganing”) on a mountain with a view? On your way to Mt Pilatus stop off at Frakmuntegg for a 1.3km long run!
Our favourite Swiss village and it’s no wonder when you can stroll the streets with this view. A tip, if you’re flexible with dates then check the weather before going, clouds do like to hang around this village and it’s very common miss the Matterhorn, even at the top of the Gornergrat!
This particular bridge is on Kirchstrasse near the Friedhof gardens.
There are so many photographic spots around Zürich old town, and this was our favourite. We would actually walk across this bridge to our favourite brunch spot on the weekends. The bridge would connect Fraumünster (the one you can see in this photo) and the Grossmünster behind.
